On Tele.

So it seems I watch a lot of tele now.

The other day Cal and I watched "A Clockwork Orange".  I need to find my paper copy for him.
Brilliant cinematography - it certainly didn't feel like a 1971 movie.  Like that is a really really long time ago now.  Cal and I have always loved wordplay and making up words and phrases so it was fun to talk about glazzies and gulivers and having a viddy.  We also talked about Shakespeare's made-up words and we talked about how clever Stanley Kubrick is and it was the type of unschooling I really enjoy - just learning and bouncing and engaging and enthusing about the abstract and art.

I've also been watching old re-runs of Will & Grace.  Because I am unable to knuckle down to regular series watching, i've probably never seen the whole of any series - just an ep here or there.  So it's like catching up with old friends on new adventures.  Macaulay Culkin guest-starred the other night and Madonna was on last week.  Good times.

Last night I was almost asleep on the couch while watching Law & Order Criminal Intent.  Jeff Goldblum was sussing out who killed the rich old man who lived in a mansion when all of a sudden I was bolt upright and awake with an intense urge to check my phone for news on Jeff Goldblum.

Thankfully, im no more psychic than I was ever was ( just hypervigilant as always ) and there was no new news on Jeff.  But im finding it hard to go to sleep in case something happens in the news.

Last night I watched "Anonymous" which my mum recommended.
It's on SBS On-Demand and explores one of the popular theories to whom the real Shakespeare might be.

And because I don't seem to take pictures anymore .. here's one from a decade ago I found on flickr:

I was so thrilled to see ALF on ABC2 tonight - I haven't seen it repeated ONCE since the 80's!

The kids were being pretty annoying at the time, but look at the calming influence of ALF ( in the next scene he stuck his head down a toilet ) - they both piled onto the 'favourite chair' and to mummy's relief, were quiet for a little while .. just had to snatch a snap :)

  1. I still haven't settled enough to watch telly. Still feel like I have too much to do. Obvs that doesn't stop me from spending way too long scrolling through the socials...
