My facebook profile statement "about me" reads: "I like to hide in my house and pat cats" My family are pretty much the same.  We are lucky to have a nice home where we recently created more spaces for growing boys, so this helps, and we also have a nice backyard.  6yrs ago we rented a 2bedroom flat with no outdoor area ( no balcony or courtyard ) and i've been thinking about that often and how hard it would be for families in homes like that. Our council likes to promote "New York Style" apartments, boasting about our proximity to public transport and local parks.  Cafes and restaurants galore, you don't need a big kitchen or pantry space, ha ha, you will be too busy being out and about and fancy.  I have to admit i've been suckered into this thinking myself.  We've become so accustomed to being able to pop out at anytime, for anything.  You can even buy microwave mashed potato for $2.  When we're both working and dead beat, AB m
